These extension activities are to acknowledge the
problems that exist and to help solve them.
1) Health and Hygiene
- medical treatments through government's health
department
- eye camp performs about 100 operations a year
- medical transportation
- dental camp
- ambulance accessibility for childbirths and
emergencies
- food supplements to pregnant women and children
- food to hungry persons
- cessations of bad habits during Gandhi Jayanti
- lower cost sanitary system for poor areas
- 45 widows were given cash donations each month
- from 1966-1977, 31 chronically ill patients were
given treatments
2) Energy Savings and Environmental Protection
- Windfarm, smokeless, stoves, solar utilities are
installed
- drip irrigation
- tree planting
- environmental educational seminars
3) Human Assistance
- provide cloths, grain, housing in case of natural
disasters
- cattle camp to save animals
4) Agricultural and Animal Farming
- animal disease diagnoses
- provide top breed bulls to improve breeding of cows
A small profile of some of the work done so far: 40
buttermilk dispensaries (13,000 served), 5 cattle camps, clothes distributions
centers (1500 served), Polio Vaccines given to 1,300 kids, food distributed
(30,000 kg), 100,000 plants distributed, tractor maintainence workshops given.
